The issue with a small number of Terminals we saw yesterday appears to have stabilized. We've received no further reports of the Terminal PIN screen freezing today. We'll continue to monitor the situation and investigate impacted Terminals.

A small number of sellers are reporting Square Terminal freezes upon inserting a card into the chip slot then reaching the PIN entry screen. Removing the card from the slot should allow the Terminal to resume operation. A workaround for now is to tap or swipe the card, or make a manually keyed card payment.
Our engineering team are currently investigating the issue and we'll provide further update as they come to hand.
